Programme information for councils
Earnability Skills
We help councils close the gap between what school offers and what young people need. As students face rising costs and an uncertain job market, they’re asking for real-world skills, support, and guidance – and we deliver. Earniversity gives young people the tools to earn, build confidence, and shape brighter futures – for themselves, their families, their communities, and the economy as a whole.

Our why
We empower young people to take ownership of their futures
Current Statistics* as of 2024 indicate that:
- 47% of UK adults have a side hustle alongside their primary employment – it was only 10% in 2017.
- New research reveals 7 in 10 young people have multiple income streams.
- 68% of those aged 16 to 34 are managing multiple income streams.
- The primary drivers include coping with the rising cost of living (35%) and managing increasing household bills (34%).
- On average, individuals with side hustles earn an additional £780 per month, equating to approximately £9,360 annually.

This collaboration with Earniversity has shown that with the right support young people can break down some of barriers to self-employment. It has been a great success, with participants able to use the skills learnt immediately and earn an income. We look forward to seeing the impact of the second cohort of this collaboration.

Your programme is bringing and energy and opportunity that we simply cannot replicate internally, and we see this as a significant opportunity to build business awareness and experience addressing the employability and work experience challenges.

I can tell you that Demi really enjoyed the 5 weeks spent on the course. She is constantly thinking up ideas on how to earn and how to be better than those doing the same thing. It has been a very good experience for her and I am confident it is an experience and knowledge she will carry with her and use for many years to come. Thank you Earniversity!
